I Could Write...

Stacey and Ruth at Two Writing Teachers host the Slice of Life community each Tuesday.  Read and enjoy!

I could write about...
The marvelous time I've had with my former assistant as my co-teacher this past month, until the end of school-this week!  He will be taking this new position next year, so I will then begin working with him as a coach.  He will be/already is a terrific teacher and I've been blessed to have this chance to work together one more time with him.

I could write about..
This wonderful class I've been with lately.  They have welcomed me with kindness, adjusted to this 'new' person giving directions, offering advice, and answering my endless questions about where things are.  We had our 'mini' Expo today which is a display of their work in these final two months of the year, with parents and extended family members visiting, exclaiming over work, appreciating the students' accomplishments.

I could write about...
Spending last Saturday with Imogene, two in mid summer, a delight to spend time with.  She never walks, but runs, yet will slow down enough to read books and play with blocks and cars.  She is a climber, so enjoyed our park time, up and down all over the play space.

I could write about...
The flowers finally in bloom.  How I've missed them and what a late spring we've had!  But the blooming trees have burst, my annuals are planted and flourishing, and I am finding all manner of surprises in my new garden area!

I could write about...
An old friend coming to visit this weekend, with two other friends who make a trip together every year.  I have traveled with them several times and they are such fun to be with.  What great timing, to arrive AFTER school is out!

I could write about...
The continuing wonderful care my husband receives, day in day out.  And I am also given the smiles, the pats, the hellos when I visit each day.  It is truly a blessed place.

I could write about...
My writing group that will meet Tuesday evening.  We are so excited to see each other again and to celebrate each other's work.  We hope to meet more often this summer and some will miss; sometimes we'll all be together.  No matter what, we all pledge to keep writing!

I could write about...
The increasing anticipation of the coming trip to All-Write conference in Indiana.  It's less than a month away!

I could write about...
The importance of adding details in the writing.  But because I'm working full time these days, and I'm visiting my husband at dinner time so don't arrive home until around 7, AND I'm going swimming with the class tomorrow, I'm a little tired.  Next time-the details!

  1. Linda, I love this "I could write about" post. I may borrow it for tomorrow. All Write Conference is on the horizon, and I can't wait to meet some of my blogger friends in person. Love the pic of Imogene at the park.

  5. I could write...is a neat way to begin and could go in any direction. It's nice to see the words "wonderful", "marvelous", "delight", "fun", "blessed", "excited", and "anticipation"! I can see the way you've chosen joy in your life. And though there's lastly "tired"... what a good tired it must be!

  7. I like these little snippets of your life. LIke the others, this is a great idea for a post! Will be missing you everyone at All-Write. With going to FlipCon at the beginning of the week, I just couldn't make it work. I'll try to follow along virtually (hopefully someone will tweet-you know how I love Twitter).

  9. What a nice snapshot of your life. I'm enjoying flowers, too, but the heat is here. I would love to be meeting you at All Write, but not in the cards (or wallet) for this year. Maybe next year?
    Thanks for sharing.

    1. I actually just put the invitation out there to our staff, Betsy, & some responded. There are 8 of us, 1 who will be leaving the school so won't be able to participate any more, but we 7 will be continuing on. It would be great to have others, but 7 is plenty. We meet for 4 or more hours & have such a great time. Can't wait to meet you too!

  18. What a great structure when there is so much to say, but so little time. I could have used this for today's slice. I will have to file this away in my mind and pull it out someday. I'm counting the days until we all meet.
