Autumn-Once More

Time to watch
enjoy and wait.
Blue with cloud;
leaf on ground
Autumn’s here;
winter’s gate.
  Leaves have fallen
  oak stays firm;
 its beauty wants
  attention turned.
Ground is covered-
 grab the rake.

Before snow smothers
must be time
to find the sweaters
and make this rhyme.

  1. Beautiful pictures and words today Linda. Thanks for sharing. We had a pretty but cold autumn day here in Michigan today too...but you can keep the snow! :)

    1. Thank you, Robin. It has been wonderful here until last week, then snow (not too bad) & cold (shivers). Winter is on its way!

    Love this...our 200 year old oak has now shed its last leaves, and waits for the storm. Fingers crossed that she will see it through.

  3. Oh Tara, I am sending positive thoughts for sure, & for your oak. I think one of the reasons I grabbed my new house has to do with the trees around it. I hope the weather people are just enjoying talking so much about the storm. They must be scaring everyone! Thanks for your words!

  4. Ah yes, the sweaters are calling and feeling neglected. Summer wear will need to go into hibernation.

    1. Yep! It's always fun to get them out, but then it becomes time also for the coats and scarves. Not yet, but soon! Thanks Betsy.

  5. Beautiful poem, Linda. I hope you have awhile to go before it snows. But it is Colorado (I have to remind myself of that)!

    1. Thanks Stacey. It's actually back to good weather again, 60's in the day, 30's at night. Thinking of you!
