SOLC17 11/31 Thanks for the March Slice of Life challenge with the Two Writing Teachers community for Day Eleven of Thirty-One of the Slice of Life Challenge in March. Thank you, Stacey, Beth, Deb, Betsy, Lanny, Kathleen, Lisa, and Melanie.
Today I also celebrate with Ruth Ayres and others at Discover Play Build. It's a good way to end the week sharing our celebrations.
Each Day Is Waiting
Monday I
played catch-up -
dust
and vacuum repeat.
On Tuesday read more blog posts,
loved Imogene’s Museum treat.
Wednesday was a
stay-at-home,
spied a
daffodil on my walk.
Thursday, hours
at bookstore
and
book club’s evening talk.
Friday
poetry, Ingrid, park -
a swirl
that filled my plate.
Today I
love the week’s end,
Saturday to celebrate.
Sunday starts
another set -
seven days full of smiles.
That’s
why I pen this tiny rhyme
to
consider past days a while.
Linda

Your poem is such a great celebration through words. What a wonderful way to reflect. I have added this idea to my list of slice ideas! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to celebrate this way today, Christine. Thanks, hope you write like this and share!
DeleteIsn't retirement wonderful. Spending time as you like, when you like and yet some structure. So much to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteYes, there are those days I am grateful, Judy. I know you understand! Thanks!
DeleteDust, vacuum and repeat! Cute! Seven days full of smiles...think that way, and they will come!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane. I do not like cleaning very much, and do think of the "repeat" when I do it!
DeleteCan I come spend this Wednesday and Thursday with you? Sound like two perfect days.
ReplyDeleteYes, among the rest, they are good ones, Maria. Come on over!
DeleteI love this format! I may have to try this out later this month.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was fun to do.
DeleteWhat a great time to savor the time you have to "play".
ReplyDeleteYou might want to check out our celebration group. It's wonderful to read everyone's celebrations! Thanks!
DeleteLove your celebration of the week. So many wonderful things to revel in. Even the mundane like dusting is fun if we make it so.
ReplyDeleteYes, I try hard to listen to some music when I dust. Nothing gets very dusty, so it's a challenge to tell myself that it's needed! Thanks, Bob!
DeleteSeven days of celebrating all that brings joy and smiles. LOVE the pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tara, it was a very fun week!
DeleteLove how you recount the week and set out for the next week with contemplation. The images also extend the writing. Wish I could get you to come to my house and dust:)
ReplyDeleteArgh, I try to manage here & it's a chore! I understand perfectly, Mary Ann. Best wishes with that!
DeleteA beautiful ode to the week!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maureen!
DeleteLoved your format today. I may have to remember this and try it too. Of course, I doubt I can get a rhyme happening.
ReplyDeleteIt will be fun either way, Elsie! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
DeleteI love this reflection on your week! Ingrid is such a cutie. I enjoyed her "slo-mo" jump on Instagram!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Holly. She was in love with that Slo-Mo action. We made more than one!
DeleteA daffodil! We have had too much snow. Waiting. Love the images too Linda!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have many blooms yet, and it is really early, but the green shoots are there! Thanks, Carrie!
DeleteGood week. So many things to celebrate. I can't imagine your celebrations without grandkids and books. This time "spied a daffodil on my walk" caught my attention.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terje, and that daffodil, still only one, is still looking great!
Deleterecapping the week -- not just a good template for a slice (saving the link in that collection though) but sets you up for the next week -- scaffolding connecting one week too another.
ReplyDeleteYes, I keep track day to day, but this is the first time I've shared this way. Always fun to try something new. Thanks, Vanessa.
DeleteA lovely poem that captured your week! Reminds me of Emily Dickinson, one of my favorite poets!
ReplyDeleteYou are too kind, Michelle. Thank you!
DeleteLinda, I loved your seven days of smiles' poem. It made me smile. Thanks for the daffodit treat.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Carol. Thanks for coming by.
