April is #NPM18 - National Poetry Month.

My goal for Poetry MonthA haiku diary that may include other forms related to haiku, like haibun, haiga. monoku or renga. My first poem speaks of why I am handwriting the poems.

  1. Sounds balmy Linda, though it’s 38 here now but should inch up to the low 50’s. All the plants are stoically doing their thing, thanks!

    1. We might get near 80 today, too early for that, will move back to the usual 70s this week. It was warm & everyone seemed to be out mowing, including me! Thanks, Michelle!

  2. Oh, I love the musicality in this poem, and the lovely nostalgia of pushing a push mower. I did that as a kid.

    1. I have a push mower for my tiny bit of grass, Glenda, hence the poem. Thanks!

  3. What is there so honest and evocative about a push-mower? I hope I remember to go back and read all your haiku this month, Linda--lovely project!

    1. Thanks, Heidi. I have enjoyed every day's entry, a lot of fun to choose what to capture. I have good memories of grandfathers using a push mower long ago.

  4. We had some warm weather last week and people were out with their noisy mowers. I have been thinking, much less eloquently than you, that summer will come.

    1. The 'push mower' sound is a favorite memory of mine, Cheriee, & yes, it means summer to me! Thanks!

  5. Push mower! We had one of those when we lived in Madison, and my dad used one when I was a child in Anaheim. (the only family on the block who did!) In 7 words you evoked two strong memories for me, Linda! Brava! =)
