A Tiny Memory

All of a sudden, I am remembering some little things that my husband likes, so thought I'd write a poem about one favorite of his.  I think I've been influenced by Donna, at Mainely Write, because she is doing the A-Z challenge and has written more than one poem about a certain topic.  They are quite wonderful, so you should check Donna's blog out!

Root Beer Floats

root beer float
two scoops in
pour the fizz
that’s all you do
to slurp it up
use a straw, then
find a spoon to
eat the cream
 Rootbeer Haiku

Wishes true – rootbeer
floats for all to savor - such
nose-tickling fizz.

  1. Oh, sweet, Linda! Literally, even! The topic - root beer - and its importance. Maybe you could share a root beer float some afternoon on a warm, sunny day! Thanks for the mention. That was sweet, too!

  2. Those A-Z folk are starting to inspire me too. Perhaps I will have to give it a go next year.

  3. Oh wonderful Linda, you took me back to the days in my hometown sipping a little root beer from my teeny tiny root beer mug. I may just have to do some digging around to see if I still have it. Loved our old A&W when I was a kid. Ours had a drive-in outside and "sit-in" section inside with the round stools and counter. So much fun; great memories!

    1. Thanks, Betsy. You've reminded me of those tiny mugs; I'd forgotten. We still have one large one (stolen from A&W?). But it's taken out whenever a float is in store.

  4. Now I am carving a root beer float! Wouldn't that be a wonderful way to begin a dreary, rainy Sunday? It might just give me the energy I need to get my "must do's" done!

    2. I actually crave a dreary, rainy Sunday. We need rain so much here. But it is getting hot enough to make floats!

    1. So, you are in full summer now, Myra? I think I should research the weather patterns of Singapore! Enjoy whatever ice cream confection cools you off.

Nose tickling fizz makes me giggle because one time my mom and I had a good laugh over a fizzy belch that came through her nose...Thanks for sharing! :)
