A Little Bit of Everything

It's April, Poetry Month

For opening day:  "Poets are like baseball pitchers.  Both have their moments.  The intervals are the tough things."

Snow is in the forecast for next Tuesday!  It was 74 degrees today, and the windows were open, the breezes were mild.

   A little thought today:

              Slumbering winter
              Like January's embers
              Warming, but still aglow.

               Waking in April
               Will not leave so easily
               Pull out the mittens

Finally, if you’d like to see more of the spectacular happenings occurring in April, check out Jama Rattigan’s blog, Jama’s Alphabet Soup.  I think she’ll be adding to the list as she finds out more, so keep checking in.

  1. "Slumbering winter . . . waking in April," I love the personification. Linda, so sad that you have snow in your forecast again. Hopefully, it will be just a short visit and spring can chase it away.

    1. Yes, it will be brief, but still... We actually can have snow all the way into May! Thanks Ramona!

    1. Thanks Ruth. I hope someday I can purchase a very fancy camera. For now, I'll rely on others, or sometimes, on the IPhone.

  3. In Maine, it's unusual, but we've had snow in June. That isn't fun. Less unusual are the April and May snows, which are brief - but our daffodils and tulips really don't like that snow. Love "January's embers"! I like thinking of it that way.

    1. Thanks, Donna. We need the moisture so badly, I hate to whine about it.
