Making Life Different

Lisa at Steps and Staircases is hosting today. She shared a unique challenge last week via Mary Lee's post which you can access here! Be sure to stop by to see Lisa's poem and everyone else who shares. Thanks for hosting and for the inspiration, Lisa!

I've had fun writing this past week for Mary Lee's challenge, #Haikuforhealing starting December 1st, mostly posting on FB and twitter. But I did decide to give Lisa's challenge a try, too. Here's what I created! I am not a great artist, yet I enjoy the sketching that I do. And I'm looking forward to seeing how others responded to this challenge.
When life feels like a bouncing ball
with UPS and DOWNS each day,
Quick! Grab it at its high point
and shoo the DOWNS away!

  10. Love it! I so want to get to the point of poem sketching. I love the work of Laura Salas....I'm not quite there. One of these days, though. I like the little lesson in your poem. It's gentle when it's in a poem like this. Have a great weekend.

  11. Linda, what great advice. Your sketch works well with the poem you wrote. I need to keep these words in my heart. BTW: I love the package you sent to Kat for the Poetry Swap. I thought I signed up but I didn't so I will enjoy seeing what is created for the Winter Swap. Have a great week, Linda.

  14. Your poem has great bounce and verve. Lovely kid-like art, too. :-) I like how the arms change length. That kid is rubber boy, a superhero!

  15. "Grab it at its high point"--Linda, I love your response to the prompt! The image of a bouncing ball, mounted on a red ball, is clever. It makes me think of dodgeball, too -- the red ball as a metaphor for all the news that comes at us every day, in so many forms now due to technology...Thank you for being one of the high points, Linda. This poem made me smile and laugh! I'm working on gathering the original images shared from this week's Poetry Friday to post in on my Tumblr blog. I will link back to your post if I am successful.
