NPM19- Day 15 - One Day

Continuing with ideas from the book. This time,  "a day"

             Remember to share:

Tabatha Yeatts has created a link to poems teachers and librarians can print for poetry month, titled "Poetry in The Halls". I'm grateful to be one of the poets!

Jama Rattigan has a post HERE with many poets' goals for April.

The Progressive Poem schedule can be found on the right!

Sunday

I am sitting here
reading and enjoying the Times,
happy for the honey sunshine
that makes every day sweet.
Here on quiet Sunday
the sun pinked
the sky’s few clouds
for a quiet hello,
a spring day at last.
I open windows before
dusk brings the chill,
hearing only kids and dogs.
No one scrapes ice from car windows.
I sip peppermint tea,
iced.

  1. Lovely, calm, and peaceful. This is what all Sundays should be like -- a day of rest, reflection, and gratitude . . . and peppermint tea! Nice photo!

  2. Oh, how lovely! Quiet, nature, kids, and dogs--and no ice except in your tea!

    1. Today is warmer, too, but rain & cold are coming back, Jane. Mercurial April won't quit! Yesterday was just perfect! Thanks!

Love this! And thank you for the lovely pic. We have sunshine today after days of gray and mist.

  4. Linda,
This just makes me happy we are finally moving toward the warmer days of spring. I feel like I'm sitting right there with you drinking peppermint tea, iced (for sure). I loved this line:

    happy for the honey sunshine
    that makes every day sweet.

    1. Thanks, Cathy. Today was even warmer, but full of 'busy', unlike to quiet of yesterday. I'm glad I wrote about it.
