It's been both a whirl of a week and a pleasure too. My son and daughter-in-law, and sweet Bernese Mountain Dog Truman have been here since Monday. Grandson Carter is with his high school band at Disney World for spring break. I miss him, but he is having a great time.
Tuesday and Wednesday were filled with shopping and conversation, eating and conversation, so much fun. Ingrid and Imogene got to come after school until their parents Sarah and Dave joined us for dinner, hence the pictures. Uncle Nathan and Ingrid share a snack while Aunt Barb and Imogene are a conversation with the house animals. Truman stays near, of course, in on the action as well as he can be.
Everyone but me is skiing today, a final time together before these visitors return home. Big snow has been falling in the mountains! I'm off to the book store!

How great that your family could come for a visit, Linda. My family is heading off to Disney for spring break with the high school band. Seems to be the popular thing to do!
Sounds idyllic! And I can't even imagine skiing in March, as we've already hit close to 90 degrees this week in Texas.

The mountains have had big snow the past few days. Everyone is thrilled. As long as it lasts, skiing happens, Chris, sometimes through June for the diehards, and the highest resorts.
A beautiful time indeed! Everyone looks so peaceful and relaxed. (Even Truman!) Thanks for sharing this lovely time with us.
Sounds like a wonderful visit Linda! I just love getting together with family, especially those that don't live close by. Just read an Irish proverb: May your home be too small to hold all your family and friends!

These dogs are the sweetest! The photo of Truman melted my heart.
We live next door to a Swiss Mountain Dog (named Manny) who Isabelle adores. He's very playful with her, but almost knocked her to the ground while they were playing during the last snowstorm!

What fun for Carter, but I know he misses being with his grandma too. Sweet dog, but goodness, aren't they big? Family time is the best of all. Even though they live far away, your son and daughter-in-law make an effort to be a part of the Denver scene. That's a blessing!

Thanks everyone. I've been busy all the day, plans disrupted because my daughter broke her leg today while skiing. It isn't a bad break, but one nevertheless, so I had everyone back here tonight, and to try to plan how to help. Things change!
Your grandson is in my back yard : ) I teach just a short ways from Disney World. Everyone looks so cozy and snuggled in--even that gorgeous mountain dog. AND then I finished reading the comments and see that your daughter broke her leg--glad it isn't a bad break! Hope her healing goes smoothly.

Thanks Lee Ann and Catherine, It isn't too bad, but she still needs to see an orthopedic surgeon to check. Will find out more in the next few days. Yikes, life does take us for a loop sometimes. And I am so glad it wasn't worse. We have had a wonderful week until today.
Holy cow! A great week with family and then a heck of an ending! Another slice in the making?????
Maybe sometime, but will have to wait to see what the doctor says first I think, then ask if I can write about it. Thanks Carol. It's going to be a lot of changes for a while I guess.
I'm so glad that you got to have family visit and savor the time together.
However, just read the comments thread and saw what happened to your daughter - not the event you want to happen on a beautiful day of skiing. Best wishes to her as she convalesces.
Thanks, Karen, things are still up in the air as to what might happen, surgery or just a cast or? It is truly a tough ending to the week, will be hard on them as they figure out about work, and kids, and ? But, we're all thankful it wasn't worse.
