Love May Be STILL be in the Air

It's Poetry Friday, and Susan Thomsen is hosting HERE on her website, Chicken SpaghettiSusan shared a challenge last week on her post that you can read about here! And, so I wrote!

I am excited to read what Susan and others have written, and this week, especially if they're responded to Susan's prompt! I haven't even read Susan's!

I stop somewhere waiting for you

I believe that anywhere with you is grand.

The magic is that elsewhere is also true.

Whereas the stumper makes us continue to search

To discover if wherever will bring the magic

Of everywhere for you?

Wishing you all peace and love this weekend! ❤️

  1. Nice twist with the stumper and the last two lines, hope they discover that magic, thanks Linda!

  2. Linda, your poem is one to read and reread. The introduction of the words magic and stumper bring a puzzling ending. This is a very interesting way of using the final line in Whitman's poem. Have a wonderful weekend.

  4. Linda, I love how this poem starts so open and forthright: "I believe anywhere with you is grand" but then gets very complex, like a koan, and made me ponder and reflect. Wow! Love "stumper" as it acts like a gorgeous hinge and center! Thank you!

  5. Thank you, Michelle, Carol, Irene, & Mona. I think I really was in a Valentine mood when I started writing. Working from someone else's words is an intriguing experience!

  6. Linda, I'm loving all the ways my thoughts go in your poem. I like all the "where" -- anywhere, elsewhere, everywhere, wherever, even whereas. Your poem shows that love is complicated in many good ways. Love is in the air, indeed.

  7. Delightful to have love still in the air! Your poem does have that mystery to it. Nice when magic is not only elsewhere but everywhere!

  8. The idea brought me back to those early courtship days when one did wonder about "real" or "maybe"! Thanks, Denise and Tabatha!

  9. The play on everywhere, anywhere, and elsewhere reminds me a little of E.E. Cummings (a very good thing!). Keep love in the air at all times!

    1. Indeed, love does not have to fight for its place, Jama! Thanks for your comment!

  10. "The magic/of everywhere"---yes, yes, yes! That's the challenge, isn't it? To look for and to find it.

  12. This feels very e.e. cummings-ish to me! (And I just noticed that Jama said the same thing!) The lyrical wordplay and the questions — love this!

  14. I love that it is a bit of a tongue twister and makes you want to reread it several times to get all the wonderful meaning squeezed out of it. Well done!

  18. Linda, I love how you braided somewhere/anywhere/wherever/elsewhere into a tangle of uncertainties and faith that is both incomprehensible and true!

  19. Linda, this is a deceptively word-delicious & deep pondering. And your love for your dear hubby glows through, confirming that it's "wherever"you are, that he will love finding you waiting, too.
