Celebrating - Minutes Fly

Celebrating Each Saturday with Ruth Ayres at Discover Play Build. It's a good time to read about everyone's celebrations! Come join us!                      Tweet at #CelebrateLu

I've had such a full two weeks that I'm going to throw it all out there. Each day has been fun, filled, exhausting, exhilarating, tough, poignant - well, an ending.

     Since I last wrote, celebrating

Little Expo - Parent Share (proud of students) - Finish Portfolios (lots to read & double-check) - Get Ready for Continuation - Students clean Room (take out re-cycle or take home) - Continuation Day (tears & pictures-yummy cake) - Remaining Class Walks to nearby stores for treats like Starbucks - Final Day, class awards & thank yous, special goodbyes in rocks & poems, pics of all, including Ingrid's last day, final assembly, final staff meeting, final final final, cart home all the papers, tubs of files, ready for writing. . .
hello family guests, wonderful visit, lots of words, dinners, sweet shopping & Botanic Gardens, sleeping later, later, later, Sunday-school anniversary celebration picnic (visiting alums), organize for evaluations, read more portfolios, sometimes breaks - Starbucks, walks, mow lawn, read more portfolios, note highlights, start typing, typing, typing, break for public library sale, Starbucks, grocery, overview first then 22, 000 words plus, read aloud, read aloud, pics of butterfly, save in Evernote, back up, re-read - ready for finishing on MONDAY!
Whew!

I think "busy" is not enough to describe your week. I like that you share your week with joy. Knowing you I predict you will not be still and quiet this summer. Well, maybe a bit to relax, but then off to new explorations and adventures, in life and on paper. I'll plant an idea seed in your head: Estonia is an interesting destination. :)

Terje, it's so exciting to think about your invitation. It would be wonderful to visit & see you, your family, town & school.

You shared your celebrations exactly how life flows -- from one event to another. You were busy, busy, busy this week. As always, I love seeing your pictures of your beautiful family. Looking forward to seeing you next week! YAY!!

The pace of year-end (especially when you teach a culminating year) is crazy busy and emotional. You look beautiful with your continuees (?) As do Ingrid, Imi, your daughter. I have to say Ingrid looks so tall. What changes they make in a year.
Enjoy ALL WRITE! This is a must do for me soon.

I say hurray, too, Jennifer. See you soon! Thanks.

You forgot to write "breathe". That list wore me out! Enjoy All Write. Sounds like fun!

What a fun list of celebrations that center around an ending and a beginning! As I read your writing, I found myself picking up the pace in hopes of helping you getting through everything. Enjoy.

Linda B said...

Oh yes, and I did breathe. I've had a lovely Saturday, BTW, spending the afternoon visiting with my daughter and the girls, not in a hurry, just enjoying. Thanks for the reminder, Donna.

I am finished until Monday, plan to get ready for All-Write & that won't be hurried. Thanks Mandy.

Whew is right, Linda. 26 years of life, love, and teaching all wrapped up in that one desk-what a great photo that should be written about. I congratulate you on a successful year and career and look forward to hearing about your writing exploits. Enjoy All-Write and consider sending me another poem for Spring's Symphony from your April haiku collection. There are so many that resonated with me.

Linda B said...

Thanks, Carol, will try to squeeze in the time for another! And thanks for the comment on my haiku. It was such fun to do that. Now time to make a goal for the summer!
