Poetry Friday - One Moment

It's Poetry Friday, and Carol Varsalona is hosting HERE on her blog Beyond Literacy Link with an "Abundance of Autumn"! Thanks for hosting, Carol!

My daughter and family live west of me, so I am traveling east when I drive home from visiting them. It's often evening, with a grand view of the sunset!

driving and weaving tomorrow

my mind curves into new corners

remembering to look back

at the weft of yesterday

How beautiful that moment in time -- I love how you captured it in your photo and in your poem. Your use of weave and weft makes perfect sense to how I sometimes feel. Thank you for putting it into words! Oooooh, I canNOT pass by a cute bookstore display. Gimme, gimme some Dr. Seuss Spooky things!

I love the weft of yesterday, Linda. So often we only look forward. Or some people only look backward. Finding that balance is hard, and this is a beautiful moment.

Ooh, I love "weaving tomorrow" as you gaze into sunset, Linda. I can hear the gratitude in those words.

Hi Linda, beautiful, reflective navigation poem, and those last two ending lines are powerfully rich–I also especially love the sunset view, thanks! And your VOTE! And Happy Halloween to you too! 🎃

Love the metaphorical links in your poem, Linda. You traversed the word journey with ease.

I love your weaving metaphor! Such truth in our forward-moving backward-looking ways!

I so love a word like weft -- not used nearly enough. The nostalgia here is lovely...

Thanks to all. I've been out in my yard much of the day! Time for raking leaves, at least the start! We have winter coming so I want to have a head start!
