Celebrating Family

This weekend I celebrate with Ruth Ayres at Discover Play Build.  and link with others who share their celebrations, too. I am grateful to Ruth for starting this meme that offers a place to celebrate together!
Also posting today on a blog tour that shares a new book. Be sure to check it out here!

I missed last Saturday because I was celebrating family, a wonderful trip with my daughter and her two daughters, the grand-girls. This is our fourth year visiting my brother in Missouri, and sad to say Carter, my grandson couldn't be there this time. He's in the midst of beginning marching band practice and could not come! We missed him, but had a fabulous time. Pictures tell the story, and I'll share just a few. My brother lives on a small acreage with all the things that children love, places to run and swing and explore.
My cousin night! There's not much more fun
than talking with those who knew you when you
were young! Everyone came, plus a few "extras"!

finding silly things to try out at an antique mall

more than one cat to play with and love

loving being near a "big" river, that muddy Missouri

My brother and sister-in-law's antique store-"Buy-Gones".

Evenings outside-just lovely.

Everywhere one looked, there was beauty.

A dog that loved to play. This is Wowser!

Walking to the pond, another lovely thing to do.

A visit with my nephew Josh and his wife, Amy. Son Evan
is around playing with the girls!

Neighbors and friends came to take the girls on an adventure, with aunt and
uncle, Wowser too.

Visiting the cemetery, and those family members we miss.

This is a maple tree where I used to sit and read, now
a whole lot bigger!

Ingrid in this and the next one, swinging her sister and
her mother.

final goodbye, my daughter with her Uncle Jim

  4. Wonderful memory building. Being together with the loving family is always the best time. When people live far away from each other it becomes even more precious to get together..

    1. My brother ran a "foster" shelter for years with a friend, and doesn't like to use people names for his pets, thus Wowser and others. He is so good training them. Wowser is a wonderful dog and loved playing with the girls. It was a super fun trip! Thanks, Tabatha.

  10. This looks like a wonderful visit! We recently had a family reunion and it was such fun to reconnect and share family memories with cousins. I love the lighting in your locale for evenings outside and it was a treat to have a photo tour of the trip.
