April - Poetry Month - Day Nine - At Last

It's April, Poetry Month, Day Nine!

The bookmark, on top of the picture above, came into the bookstore at the end of March. Often people do donate books and leave 'treasures' in them. This time, it became my own treasure and I knew what I would do for April's poetry, write about found treasures, perhaps find new places to look? Happy April!

Plus! Check each day for the added line to the Progressive Poem, created by Irene Latham, now hosted by Margaret Simon! The link is to the right!  My Day is tomorrow!

As I drive around town, I've seen other spring bulbs and a few (very few) fruit trees in bloom, but until a few days ago, nothing near me, in the inner or outer gardens! At last, the first blooms for me!

                                                            A flower’s needs

                                                                from buried seeds

                                                                    are strokes of sun

                                                                        on every one.

Linda, such a sweet little rhyming poem. The flowers are beautiful, and the "strokes of sun" is such a beautiful phrase. Looking forward to your progressive poem line tomorrow.

Blooms help ease us out of winter...even when winter doesn't know when to take its exit. (we had snow this weekend and last!)
